Close Protection, refers to risk mitigation and security measures designed to ensure the safety of individuals and their families while at home or traveling to unknown cities. Our Close Protection Officers (CPO’s) at SP & I, are sometimes also referred to as Bodyguards, VIP Protection or Executive Protection. All our CPO’s are highly trained individuals that form part of the specialized security sector in South Africa. Our CPO’s keep people safe from physical harm, unwanted attention as well as managing the reputational risk of our client.
A typical day for our Close Protection Officer (CPO) would consist of conducting risk assessments on our client, preparing travel plans including the risk matrix of the area our client would be traveling to, planning daily routes traveled to and from meetings, pre-searching rooms and buildings where our client will be visiting, researching the backgrounds of people that will have contact with our client, searching vehicles, escorting our client on their day-to-day activities, providing social media exposure reports to monitor for any reputational risks to our client on social media. In the event of an emergency, our CPO’s priority will always be to evacuate our client, rather than engage with threats.
